Education | $60M

Baringa State Secondary School

Located in Aura in Caloundra West the new Baringa State Secondary School brings a to the region a new Greenfield Secondary Education Facility with capacity to cater to 1200 students.   

Opportunity
The project caters for the large population growth of the region and sits next to the Baringa Primary School that the CCM Staff where involved in providing Cost Management services for.  The proposed New Secondary school in Caloundra South will be adjacent to new sporting fields, with the new Baringa State Primary School, on the other side of the fields. The project includes 3 storey Learning Precincts, New Administration Facility, and new Multipurpose School Hall.

Full Cost Management Services for this project which include the following:

  • Cost planning from Master Planning through Contract Documentation Stage
  • Participate and contribute as an active team member towards the successful of design development
  • Attendance and contribution to project team meetings
  • Review of tender returns during Tender Stage
  • Construction and Post Construction Stage inclusive of the assessment of monthly progress claims and review of variations.
  • Defect liability period inclusive of the provision of Componentisation Report

The CCM staff have prior experience of working within the education sector and, in particular, alongside the Department of Education, and are familiar with the desired design and building outcomes for 21st century education facilities both for the Department and the teaching staff and students alike.

Education | $10M – $15M

Murrumba State Secondary College

Located in Murrumba Downs is one of the newest and most innovative secondary schools in central Brisbane. The first secondary site in Queensland to introduce Year 7 into Junior Secondary as part of the Flying Start initiative 

Opportunity
The project purpose was for the refurbishment and extension of the existing school to include 3 new storey Learning Centre, a new single storey Music Learning Building and Industrial Kitchen including provision of covered link access from the new building to the spine of the school.

Full Cost Management Services for this project which include the following:

  • Cost planning from Master Planning through Schematic Design Construction Documentation Stage
  • Participate and contribute as an active team member towards the successful of design development
  • Attendance and contribution to project team meetings

Murrumba State Secondary College
Murrumba State Secondary College

Education | $20M+

Queensland Academy of Science, Mathematics & Technology

Located in Toowong the project included two new STEM precinct providing contemporary learning areas. Robotics and Maker Space laboratories, State of art science laboratories and e-learning hubs as well as renovation of existing facilities. The project was delivered over Multiple Stages in an existing education facility.

Opportunity
The proposed works included cost management services in line with the DoE terms of reference for the construction of Stages 1-3 of the proposed works.  The project was completed in June 2020.

  • Value adding review
  • Pre-tender Cost Plan
  • Assistance with the tender evaluation plan
  • Tender evaluation reports
  • Assessment of progress claims and progress certificates
  • Variation assessments

The CCM staff have a good understanding of the requirements for a simple, cost effective, functional design and have been involved in the successful delivery of numerous similar projects, all working to strict finite budgets. This experience will provide us with the expertise to provide the independent peer review and report necessary for this project.

Hospitality | $6.6M

Sound Garden

Located in Fortitude Valley, The Sound Garden is a bar, restaurant and tune temple. The multi-faceted venue boasts a capacity of 770 patrons who have access to the indoor beer garden with cosy booths and couches around the outside on each level.

Opportunity
The project consisted of required fit-out works to include new bars, kitchen and restaurant space to the existing shell at 312 Brunswick Street.  Full Cost Management Services for this project which include the following:

  • Concept Design Estimate Elemental Report
  • Design Development Estimate Report at 50%
  • Design Development Estimate Report at 80%
  • Pre-Tender Estimate Report
  • Tender Review at Trade Level
  • Post Contract Services inclusive of the assessment of monthly progress claims and variation assessments

The CCM team consisted of qualified personal with extensive hospitality experience who were available to work on the project and meet the timeframes set out in the request. Our past industry experience, and familiarity with the Mantle Group’s approach to project delivery, provided assurance that this project would be delivered in a collaborative, cost effective and timely manner.

Sound Garden
Sound Garden

Hospitality | $5m – $10m

The Lucky Squire, Broadbeach

The Lucky Squire is a huge venue with two-level microbrewery, bar and restaurant boasting a capacity of around 450 capacity.  The venue also consists of a fully functioning glass-encased microbrewery.

Opportunity
The opportunity was to collaborate with the Mantle Group who have a host of hospitality venues around Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The Lucky Squire will be the only brewhouse on the Goldie with the full James Squire range on tap.

Full Cost Management Services for this project which include the following:

  • Update the cost plan to accommodate delays and alternative contractor
  • Review the Balance of the trade recommendations
  • Venue Two Cost plan (Completed)
  • Site Inspections and processing of invoices
  • Fortnightly claims
  • Final Account
  • Tax Depreciation Schedules

Commercial Fitout | $5m – $10m

Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC)

The project required a new fitout to accommodate the Inland Rail Project Team within ARTC located in Brisbane. 

Opportunity
The premises total was approximately 3,500m2 of office space fitout to accommodate up to 400+ employees with a secure open plan, agile, activity-based office space with meeting rooms including, break-out spaces, screened booths, quiet rooms and phone rooms along with a first aid/carer’s rooms. 

Full Cost Management Services for this project which include the following:

  • Full cost planning and post contract services for the project delivered under a construction management arrangement
  • Represent ARTC as the cost management expert for the project.
  • Assisted with procurement of other design team consultants including tender reviews and recommendations. Provided cost advice to ARTC’s appointed representatives throughout the project.
  • Updated cost documents to reflect design amendments (as required).
  • Provided specialist cost planning and construction reports and the like as and when requested by ARTC and cost advice for any proposed amendments to the existing base building engineering services, facilities or finishes

Commercial Fitout | $1M – $5M

North Queensland Bulk Ports

NQBP relocated to a newly leased office space located in Brisbane requiring a completed relocation, design and tenancy fitout.

Opportunity
The premises totals 1,159m2 over one floor. The briefed space required include workspace for approximately 70 staff, boardrooms with an adjacent catering kitchen, 16 seat large meeting room, 2 x 8-10 person meeting rooms, 7 internal meeting rooms and 4 internal offices.
Full Cost Management Services for this project which include the following:

  • Provide a detailed cost estimate at concept design phase, cost estimate at design development phase and tender cost schedules at tender documentation stage
  • Prepare pre-tender estimate and provided monthly progress claims and reporting including review of variations
  • Provide a tax appreciation schedule on completion of the works
  • Co-ordinate outputs with all other project consultants. Provided specialist cost planning and construction reports and the like as and when requested by Faction. Provide cost advice for any proposed amendments to the existing base building engineering services, facilities or finishes
